SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL

"Blair’s eclectic choreography dazzles again and again... from the pizzazzy “How Lucky You Are” to the street-funky Wickershams’ “Monkeying Around” to the precision pizzazz of “The Military,” with some circus acrobatics and a gorgeous underwater ballet thrown in for good measure." - StageSceneLA

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER

"From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair... and the bonds of friendship, duty, and love. The entire production is choreographed to perfection at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre in Santa Monica with large set pieces designed by Christopher Daroca being moved and manipulated by the cast to reflect various locations visited, both on and off the two ships. The movements make the show even more of an adventure, never knowing what additional props may be brought out to represent trees to hide behind, flowing material to represent mystical waters, or how one piece of rope will be used to represent a window, door, deck railing, ship's bow, or whatever other set piece is needed. It's quite a feat of engineering... thanks to the skill of director/choreographer Lauren Blair." -Broadway World

LEGALLY BLONDE

"Choreographer Lauren Blair surely spent hours on end putting together the many incredibly intricate musical numbers, including the momentous "What You Want," Elle's video essay to get into Harvard, which includes at least 3 set changes, several costume changes by dozens of cast members, and many types of dance from tap to jazz. That 12 minute number is worth the price of admission on its own!"  -Broadway World

"Lauren Blair delivers the choreography that is Broadway worthy, even at an off-Broadway size and scope. "

THE PRODUCERS

"Some of the funniest moments in the production are when the walker-wielding little old ladies dance up a storm thanks to the inventive choreography by Lauren Blair throughout the show. The big production numbers were flawless and incredibly entertaining thanks to her vision of what could be done onstage." -Broadway World

SPRING AWAKENING

"Lauren Blair gives us her own vision of the innovative stomps and back kicks and leaps and jumps that characterized Jones' cutting-edge dances. It's as if every adolescent urge is just bursting to break free now finds itself expressed in dance. The most striking illustration of this comes in Act Two's "Totally Fucked," which has the entire cast contorting as if their sexual wants and their dissatisfaction with the world around them were ants crawling all over their bodies and driving them insane with pent-up desire, anger, and frustration." -StageSceneLA

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

"Creative choreographer Lauren Blair and her cast of performers add much throughout the show. The huge "Gaston" number, led by eager LeFou, is a hit as the always funny Silly Girls twirl by to pluck out Gaston's chest hais and as Gaston finds himself tormented by the smallest girls of the small, provincial town. "The Mob Song is appropriately dark and fearful and determined. "Be Our Guest" is brilliant. It includes lots of character development as Belle interacts with the others whether it be delighting in dancing the can-can, running playfully across the rug who just collapsed, or getting into a tango battle between Lumiere, Babette, and Cogsworth. And it includes a joyous celebration of new friends, and lots of good food. While the nervousness of new romance captured in the dance between Beauty and the Beast finds the heart of the tale." -National Youth Arts Award

THE FULL MONTY

Blair also deserves highest marks as choreographer. Her dance sequences include a 60s inspired Woman's World, a dance studio sequence with a Latin beat, the Act 1 capper Michael Jordan's Ball (in which each of the six guys dances in character), and the sexy finale Let it Go. There's also a tribute to Chicago the musical with the women (and Keno) dressed in sexy tight black things singing The Goods, a la Cell Block Tango." StageSceneLA
